Education Headphones Care Instructions | Learning Headphones

When you buy headphones for your school, we know it is a worthwhile investment. It is important to protect this investment and make the most of each pair. This is a big challenge with essential school headphones, but there are steps you can take to avoid accidental damage or breakage. We have created these care instructions as a general guide. Be sure to follow all of the manufacturer's recommendations. These school headphone care instructions will help you get the most out of each pair of school headphones, school earbuds, or school headsets with a microphone in your classroom.

1. Do not wrap the cord around school headphones

  • The cord should never be wrapped around the headphones. This could put the internal cables at risk of being damaged. Instead, roll the cord in a circle and secure it with a tie.
  • Keep your headphones in good shape by putting them in the pouch that comes with them. If your headphone does not come with a bag, consider getting a durable storage bag for each one.
  • There are cable wraps available online that work well, but they are easy to lose, so keep that in mind if you go this way.
  • It is always a good idea to teach students about the importance of being careful with the cord and connector. Those are usually the first thing to get damaged.

      2. Cleaning School Headphones

      • Clean the headset with a damp disinfectant cloth.
      • Never spray liquid directly onto the headphone or submerge it in water or a liquid.

      3. Choose headphones that are suited for your child's age.

      • School children under the age of three should not use headphones or earbuds since they may contain tiny pieces. For students ages 4 and up, we support the use of school headphones. In our experience, earbuds don't always fit perfectly for younger students. They're also more prone to damaging cords and connectors by accident.
      • For 5th grade students and up, both school earbuds and school headphones are suggested. If you have any questions about which model is best for you, our team is here to assist you. For particular school headphone recommendations, please contact us.
      • Keep your school headphones in a safe place. We understand that this one appears to be self-evident. However, it's never a bad idea to educate kids about the necessity of properly caring for their school headphones. Shortages can be aggravating and difficult to deal with.
      • To learn more, we contacted some teachers for suggestions on how to make it more enjoyable. Several of the teachers we spoke with chose to create innovative games and engaging activities in which they would create and devise a list of important elements for students to remember when using and wearing school headphones.
