Match the connection

Check your device’s audio port, then confirm the product supports it. Models differ in their connection options, which can include 3.5mm, USB-A, USB-C, or wireless. A USB-C charging port does not necessarily carry audio.

Decide if students need a microphone

Headphones cover listening. For speaking, recording, or communication, choose a model with a microphone and check that both audio and microphone work through your chosen connection.

Chromebooks, laptops and tablets with a round headphone jack accept a 3.5mm plug. Many newer devices have no headphone jack; for those, choose USB-C headphones or a compatible adapter. Check your device model before ordering a full class set.

What is the difference between TRS and TRRS plugs?

A TRS plug (two bands on the metal tip) carries stereo audio only. A TRRS plug (three bands) adds a microphone channel. Listening headphones in this collection play audio through a standard 3.5mm headphone jack; if students also need to speak or record, choose a TRRS headset instead.
