Choosing classroom audio

Three things to check before ordering

Match the connection

Check your device’s audio port, then confirm the product supports it. Models differ in their connection options, which can include 3.5mm, USB-A, USB-C, or wireless. A USB-C charging port does not necessarily carry audio.

Decide if students need a microphone

Headphones cover listening. For speaking, recording, or communication, choose a model with a microphone and check that both audio and microphone work through your chosen connection.

Plan your classroom quantity

Count the headsets needed for each classroom, cart, or location. Check whether the listing is a single unit or a pack, or request a quote for help planning a larger order.

Andrea Communications purchasing questions

Which Andrea series should we start with?

For classroom headsets and headphones, start with EDU: the EDU-255 and EDU-455 headsets have noise-canceling microphones, and the EDU-175 and EDU-375 are listening-only headphones. For voice input, speech recognition, or testing on PCs, the NC series offers mono and stereo headsets in 3.5mm, USB-A and USB-C. WNC models are Bluetooth wireless, and the AC series covers budget on-ear headphones and headsets.

What do the M and USB versions of a model mean?

Andrea offers several plugs for the same headset. Models ending in M (for example EDU-455M) use a single 3.5mm TRRS plug for tablets, Chromebooks and phones. USB models plug into a USB-A port, and some NC models also come in USB-C. PC headsets without a suffix (for example EDU-455 or NC-185) use two 3.5mm plugs, one for the headphones and one for the microphone. Check your device’s ports before choosing.

Can we replace ear cushions and windscreens?

Yes. Replacement ear cushion sets are available for the EDU-175/255 and EDU-375/455 families and for the WNC headsets, along with foam replacement kits and windsock packs for the microphones. Replacing worn parts is an inexpensive way to keep shared classroom headsets clean and in service.

How do I order the right number for a classroom?

For a single-unit listing, the order quantity is the number of units you want. For a pack listing, multiply the packs ordered by the units included per pack. For example, three 10-packs contain 30 headsets. Check the specific listing before adding to your cart.

Can our school request a quote or use a purchase order?

Learning Headphones accepts school purchase orders and provides quotes for classroom quantities. Use the Request a Quote page and include your preferred models, total quantity, device connections, and purchasing requirements.

About Andrea Communications headsets

Andrea Communications makes headsets and headphones for classroom listening, voice input and online testing. EDU headsets pair 40mm speakers with a noise-canceling microphone on a heavy-duty swivel boom, and internal windscreens reduce breath noise when students speak or record. Adjustable headbands fit smaller heads, and ear cushions can be replaced and cleaned. Choose 3.5mm, TRRS, USB or USB-C models to match your devices, and see our headphone care guide for keeping shared headsets clean.
