  1. Record the state, assessment, grade, subject, testing year and testing window.
  2. Open the current state or provider manual; record the source URL, document date and relevant page.
  3. Confirm headphone, microphone and wireless rules for each test section and approved accommodation.
  4. Inventory device models, ports, secure browser versions and any adapters or hubs.
  5. Run a sample audio and recording check on the actual testing setup before ordering in bulk.
  6. Set headset quantities and a local spare allowance; 10% is a planning example, not an assessment requirement.
  7. Choose fit and controls that meet the provider guidance; in-line volume controls are not universally preferred.
  8. Set an order date that allows delivery, inspection and a practice run; eight weeks is a planning suggestion.
  9. Label equipment, plan cleaning according to manufacturer instructions and assign responsibility for spares.
  10. Complete the provider’s audio or microphone check before the student begins; follow the manual for failures.
